Lone Star Wins Best Play at the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC)

Happy news for Wild Hare Productions!!! We won best play for the 10 state region (Yay everyone!) and best director (me!!! WOW!) Best set design (me too! WOW!) Best Ensemble (GO GUYS!!!!), and Wally and Chris both took home outstanding actor recognitions!!! The judges lauded Byron for a remarkably truthful and wonderful portrayal of Cletis, a role that is often presented as a caricature! GO BYRON! We are SO overwhelmed by the honors and the comments we received from the judges about the authenticity the truth in the acting and staging and design work. SO PROUD of these people! Byron and Wally Dorn and Chris Allen all three deserve HUGE rounds of applause. Jon Lee did a spectacular job of the lighting. I got fantastic response to the direction and staging of the show supporting that the work I am doing with Larry Silverberg on the Meisner technique acting training and the impetus behind the staging works. LOVE YOU LARRY!

Wild Hare also wants to honor all of the other community theatres who were represented from the Southeast Region. Everyone’s hard work and dedication was so evident! Thank you all for sharing in your passion and your efforts. It does not go unnoticed!!!

The show Tshepang from the Actors’ Warehouse in Florida also took home a winning play (If this had been a nationals year we both would have advanced forward to the national festival!) and a best actress and best actor award. Serendipity would have it, we all sat at the same table for the banquet and were thrilled to share in the honors. They were wonderful! Thank you SETC and AACT and all of the people behind the scenes who make these festivals and opportunities happen! We appreciate you so much!!!!
